How artists get signed to a label

How artists get signed to a label:

The industry is no longer run by scouts who go out and try to find talent from live performances. Due to the over-saturation of the industry and the advancements of technology, independent artists today look for something more concrete than a "sound" or talent. It's all based in numbers and statistics, how likely this band or artist is likely to become. This means it is in the hands of the artists themselves to create their own existing audience, this is often done though social media platforms and doing live "gigs" building a fanbase though popular videos. There's also a means for independent artists to try and appear as much as possible on Spotify's playlists, that vary depending on your music. If you're an alt-pop singer, its most beneficial to try and get on that playlist. this means artists have to create their own brand and sound before even having potential to be advised.
