In order to do some
Editing rules:
1. Editing suite ettiquette
Our computer is being shared with other members of the school, however, during our class and free time we are scheduled, as editors, to have our computer free in order to edit for a solid hour. Other than that, we have to schedule coming in our free time after school or during activities.
Don't show your music video to anyone besides your own group and teachers, this ensures not only that you block out any unnecessary feedback. Only come into the edit suite to edit.
2. Group Shots together
Innitially, edit together a performace shot of the entire video before adding any aditional non-sync footage, in my case this will mean all the teddy-bear ripping, and destroying of the set.
Group shots together, meaning group closeups of the instrument and the instrumentalist, for example, into the same moment so the audience can follow the action.
3. Listen to Music
If there is a big guitar solo, showcase the guitar onscreen, listen to the music track in order to tell you where to cut and who to showcase.
Golden Rule of all music videos being, on the first line of the song, you must show the lyric being sung, this extablishes the lead artist or front of the band.
